WEALL know what Peter Thomson is best known for. Designing ridiculously difficult golf courses with greens shaped like upturned saucers, right? (Oh, and winning one more than four British Opens). While many struggle on his courses with the flat stick, the man himself drained plenty in his day. You have hole putts to win titles. And Thomson won heaps. In 1984 and ’85, The Melbournian was a major hit on the Champions Tour. He won 11 times including nine times in ’85. That year he topped the money list and ended up with career prizemoney in excess of $1 million on the Champions Tour. Maybe Thommo could throw a little our way to cover the psych sessions.
