WHATTHE, Nick Watney took an 11? It’s a score that’s been pencilled onto numerous scorecards at TPC Boston’s par-5 second hole—just not for a professional golfer. Beginning the final round of this year’s Deutsche Bank Championship only three shots from the lead, Watney’s disastrous 11 would have shocked the world No.11. But it no doubt warms the cockles of many who take delight in seeing the pros struggle like C-graders. Those watching the debacle thought Watney only played nine shots. He did. But later he received a two-stroke penalty when it was revealed he slammed his club into the ground while inside the hazard—a two shot penalty.
