Golf Australia Express : January 2014
LETTERS I COMPLETELY agree with Adrian Ballantyne's 'Rolling the Dyson' article [OTG December]. Did Simon Dyson breach a rule? Yes. Should he have been disqualified? Yes. Did he do it intentionally? No. It was a spur of the moment act but in no way intentional. The way it dragged on with a potential ban as well as Dyson being labelled a cheat by some people is completely ridiculous. He's paid the price by losing thousands in prizemoney so he's done his time. How is this any different to the rule breach by Tiger Woods at the Masters? Yet the officials allowed him to continue to play with no DQ. What the? On top of that, Tiger still collected a massive cheque and off he went to the next event without any further hearings. It's amazing to see the full force of the law applied to someone who isn't a famous golfing brand yet so lenient to someone who is a massive one. How often have we seen different rules for different people applied in society in general? It's a shame to see it happen in golf, supposedly governed by people with such high integrity. —CHRIS LEMBERIADIS, VIA EMAIL The Letter of the Month receives a dozen Callaway Speed Regime Balls valued at $59 YOUR THOUGHTS LETTER OF THE MONTH TELL US YOUR THOUGHTS TELL US YOUR THOUGHTS ADAM'S TRIPLE CROWN COLLAPSE?
